THE TEAM: Richard Tyers, Louise Priestman, Catharine Sullivan, Jon Wendzina, Fred Hamer
The project brief was to design a new giraffe enclosure at the Wild Place Wildlife Park. The park has ambitions to create a world leading research establishment focused on researching ecologically sustainable technologies and ethical breeding programs. The giraffe is the firs major exhibit.
The enclosure focused o the concept of protection. A large green wall creates a protective barrier between visitor and giraffe. Visitors are rewarded with select views on their journey around the exhibit. The giraffe is able to live unaware of their constant observation and under no stress.
